One of the most significant benefits of psychotherapy is having a safe and confidential space to share your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. This can be especially helpful for individuals who may not have a supportive network of friends or/and family to turn to.
About me and my practice
Though I have started the counselling journey as a person centred therapist, over the years I have come to integrate other modalities. It allows for a more tailored approach to your unique needs.
I work in a holistic way meaning we will explore you as a whole person, ie body, mind and spirit.
Also, by addressing and working through your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, you can gain a better understanding of yourself and learn coping mechanisms to manage difficult emotions, which might have led to feeling of depression, anxiety, overwhelm, PTSD.
I work with a wide range of people from all walks and backgrounds, who come to me with a variety of issues.
So, if any of the above applies, do get in touch. We can start with a free 15-minute telephone consultation and we'll take it from there.
Experience
My counselling experience has been diverse and rewarding, as I have had the opportunity to work with individuals who have experienced domestic violence, refugees and asylum seekers, and those dealing with bereavement.
Each of these areas presents unique challenges and requires a sensitive and empathetic approach. Working with survivors of domestic violence has taught me the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment, where individuals can share their experiences and begin the healing process.
Assisting refugees and asylum seekers has opened my eyes to the resilience and strength of individuals who have faced unimaginable hardships, and I have learned the importance of cultural sensitivity and understanding.
Lastly, supporting individuals through the grieving process has taught me the significance of providing a non-judgmental space for individuals to express their emotions and find ways to cope with their loss.
Overall, my counselling experience with these diverse populations has deepened my understanding of the human experience and reinforced my commitment to helping others navigate difficult times in their lives.
